History: Tamaki Suoh is an illegitimate lovechild of Yuzuru Suoh and Anne-Sophie de Grantaine, a pureblood wizard of a noble wizarding house and a Veela of an equally noble house. Although both of his parents are of high stock, the fact that he is an illegitimate child often comes with great scorn – particularly from his paternal grandmother.
Because of this, Tamaki was not allowed to live with his father, instead remaining with his mother in France. They lived well, with Anne-Sophie heading quite a few businesses in the wizarding world (mostly related to investment) and remaining in a mansion worthy of their noble stock. He wasn't particularly social as a child, though not because he didn't want friends; his mother took ill from a very young age for Tamaki, and because of his worry for his mother there was rarely a time when he ever left her side. Whenever he could he would play piano for her, recognizing it as something that made her happy and feeling his own joy in that as well.
It wasn't until Tamaki began to attend Beauxbatons Academy that he would leave his mother's side for more than a day, and even then he would still write to her nearly every day to let her know how he was doing and to check on her as well. Until Tamaki turned fourteen it seemed to work well, but sadly that was when Anne-Marie's health and business at once began to fail.
On the other side of things, the Suoh family was currently without a proper heir. The matriarch of the Suoh Family, Shizue, took it upon herself to approach Tamaki and Anne-Marie with a "mutually beneficial" proposal; Anne-Marie would receive financial security, enough for her to live comfortably for the rest of her days, if she were to give up control and visitation rights regarding Tamaki to the Suoh family. It was reluctant and with prompting from her son, but Anne-Marie ended up accepting the proposal and, with a final farewell, she disappeared. Tamaki hasn't heard about her or spoken to her since, though it's by no will of his own.
On Shizue's order, Tamaki transferred into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for his fourth year of schooling onward, returning to the secondary Suoh mansion in Japan during breaks and holidays. Apparently this decision was made because of the reputation Hogwarts held and because of Tamaki's European ancestry, although nothing has been confirmed from the Suoh Family regarding this.
Now Tamaki attends school at Hogwarts, always wearing a smile and doing his best to enjoy the time with his friends around him, even if his future is currently uncertain.
